The Reading Railroad Heritage Museum is staffed entirely by volunteers! Consider
becoming a member of the team! Many opportunities exist for volunteers diverse
including:
Equipment Restoration (painting, lettering, wood and metalworking, welding, etc.)
Museum Staff (welcoming visitors, giving tours of the yard)
Sales (staffing our gift shop and sales tables at special events)
Archives (sorting, cataloging, and researching)
Artifacts (photographing, cataloging, and storing)
Yard and Building Maintenance (landscaping, carpentry, painting, housekeeping)
Modular Layout (model building and maintenance, detailing)
Communications (keeping in touch with members, visitors, community groups)
Fundraising
Planning future development
And many more!
Museum Helpers Wanted!Volunteers are needed to staff the Museum
during the hours when the Museum is open. Volunteers receive training in museum
procedures and cash register operations and learn to give guided tours of the
outdoor exhibits. Volunteers may serve once a month or more often, as available.
