Covered Hopper Ex Delaware, Lackawanna & Western #02905
Background & History
We have little history of this DL&W Covered Hopper. Most of this style of car was built following WW2 in the 1946 to 1952 range, but the DL&W WEB Site offered little on the history of the car. We do know that it was last used in Maintenance of Way service hauling sand for locomotives.
Currently RCT&HS has no plans for restoration of the car. It remains at the Reading Railroad Heritage Museum at Hamburg PA hidden away on the canal track.
